Mapping and book cover design

I recently set myself the challenge of designing a fantasy realm and constructing a map of the land, and environment paintings from two of the locations shown on the map. The results are below:

 

 As part of my uni work I got the opportunity to work on a cover concept for a as yet unpublished book, under the guidance of the Omnibus art director Patricia Howes. This was class exercise to develop skills and knowledge.

Quick digital experiment

Havnt uploaded anything for a while, so I thought its about time I threw something on here. This is just a quick experiment using Corel Painter alongside Adobe Photoshop. Isnt towards anything - the images are all grabbed from past projects. Trying to use some brighter colours!
