Digital painting experiment: 2

Test digital painting

Trying a new painting program.

I should really have used reference or planned what I was going to paint, but this was fun to do anyway - very much prefer this program over photoshop to just sketch straight into!!

Community Alliance logo design

Above is an image from the launch of the Community Alliance SA, which I did the logo and banner design for. Was a great group to work with, learnt a lot, and was fantastic to see all the elements of the visual identity come together so successfully on the launch day.

Creature design masterclass images

These images are the images I produced around helping out at the Creature Design Masterclass run  by Anthony Christou. Above are some studies of the props, and below are thumbnails and silhouettes of possible creatures developing into the final design. Was loads of fun!

There should be some more classes run on this and similar subjects in the future, contact me if you would like some more info about them.

Below: Work in progress from the above idea developments at the workshop.

Lorax children portraits

More portraits of the Lorax actors in costume. Continuing to take on portrait commissions. The exhibition shall stay up until the new year if you have not had a chance to see it and wish to check out these or other works in person.

I havnt posted on here for a while due to the hassle of the time used in photographing and uploading all my work. I shall attempt to update most of what I have been up to and then settle into updating when I have time to spare.

Day 39: 18.11.11

Exhibition at Inkpot Arts setup today! I have been working on ink portraits of the children from The Lorax play over the last couple of days to compliment this.

The exhibition is called Sense of Place and is in the Founder's Room of Ink Pot Arts Inc Creative Hub in Mt Barker. The other works I have on display are of the Oratunga landscape in the Flinders Ranges.
I will post more details about the exhibition when I have it.

The original portaits and other artworks are for sale at the exhibition and I would love to do additional commisions. Please contact me for more information.

Day 31: 10.11.11

Finally got around to starting the sketch book Hannah made for me for my 21st. Thought I would try a watercolour of her as the first page in it. My watercolour skills seem to have degraded over time with my lack of practice with it - definately need to work with it some more.
